When posting a found item, we collect photos of the item, its category, an optional collection/pickup location, and the finder's phone number. When searching for a lost item, we collect the identifying details you enter for that item's category, along with your email and phone number so we can contact you about matches. When claiming an item, we collect the contact details needed to process payment of any incentive and platform fee via M-Pesa.
We use the information you provide to match found items with people searching for them, to notify you by SMS or email if a match is found, to process incentive and platform fee payments, and to improve and operate the platform.
We share limited information between finders and claimants only as needed to complete a match—for example, a pickup location once a claim is confirmed. We use third-party payment providers (such as M-Pesa) to process payments, and your phone number is shared with them solely for that purpose. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We retain item and contact information for as long as needed to facilitate a match, process payments, and comply with legal obligations, after which it may be deleted or anonymized.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Note that deleting information tied to an active post or claim may affect our ability to complete that match.
While we aim to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. We do not accept any legal liability for unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, or misuse of your information as a result of circumstances outside our control or third-party breaches.
We are not affiliated with or responsible for any activities, communications, exchanges, or transactions conducted outside this platform, even if initial contact was made through our service. Users are solely responsible for their interactions and exchanges.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
